Terms of Service

Last updated June 27, 2026

These terms govern your access to and use of Purelist’s email-verification service (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.

1. The Service

Purelist verifies email addresses through technical checks (syntax, DNS/MX, SMTP probing, catch-all detection) and returns a status, score, and recommended action. The Service is provided on a credit-based and/or subscription basis as described on our pricing page.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials and API keys secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account and API keys. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Verify addresses you do not have a lawful basis to process.
  • Send spam, phishing, or unsolicited bulk email, or to support any unlawful activity.
  • Harvest or enumerate addresses you are not authorized to contact.
  • Resell, sublicense, or scrape the Service, or attempt to bypass usage limits, rate limits, or security.
  • Overload, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the Service.

4. Credits, billing & refunds

  • Verifications consume credits. A definitive result consumes one credit per address.
  • Paid plans and top-ups are billed through our payment processor. Prices are shown on the pricing page and may change with notice.
  • Except where required by law, fees and consumed credits are non-refundable.

5. Accuracy & no guarantee

Email verification is inherently probabilistic. Some providers and catch-all domains do not reveal whether a specific mailbox exists, and results can change over time. We therefore provide results on a best-effort basis and do not guarantee 100% accuracy, deliverability, or that any address is or remains valid. You are responsible for how you act on the results.

6. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, engine, and content, is owned by Purelist and protected by law. You retain ownership of the data you submit; you grant us a limited license to process it to provide and improve the Service as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Purelist is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the three months before the claim.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Purelist against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or breach of these terms, including any unlawful processing of email addresses.

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to our infrastructure.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; material changes are reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
